Soon enough, we were back at Mize Mill and had crossed over the creek and back up that steep section to the base of the cleft. At this point, we’d hiked just a little more than half a mile and though both falls were pretty, that was hardly enough ‘hike’ to make the drive worthwhile, so I decided to try to hike back to Turkeyfoot Falls along the east side of the little creek.

Turkey Foot Falls and Mize Mill Falls Huntsville

There is an alternate route to get to Turkey Foot Falls and Mize Mills Falls. Park at the Sipsey Wilderness Recreational Area. Parking is $3 per car. Go across the small 1 lane bridge (not the main bridge) and find the trailhead on the right. You can follow this trail for about a mile to both waterfalls.

Turkeyfoot Falls: When you locate the footpath (located less than a 1/2 mile from Sipsey Picnic Area just across the bridge..see trail head location above) just follow it towards the sound of a waterfall. You will come upon Mize Mill Fall first. Walk down the embankment to view the falls. After visiting Mize Mills just continue on along the path.
